You know, there are things called one-handed swords, sword type weapon things specifically made to be wielded in one hand.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the sword in this image is such a sword to be wielded in one hand by an average highschool girl, I'm just speaking on principle.

This is true. My uncle has a small sword collection and will vouch for the article. Its the same for a S&W .45 revolver and them being surprisingly light.
