Not sure why it said 'Search me' in the translation bubble but I fixed it to 'Beats me' which is probably the closest to the original Japanese (I guess).

Because "Search me" is an (admittedly, I think, somewhat old-fashioned) equivalent expression. Just another way of saying "I don't know."
