Im glad they almost immediately established that he’s not native to the Mario Universe, and that way a potential Star Fox movie could either begin or end with Fox exiting a warp to know when it takes place relative to Mario Galaxy.

Having the secret easter egg wormhole from the original game be the reason for why he's here is a lot of fun honestly lol. I love his inclusion in the film
