1944年9月、『マーケットガーデン作戦』失敗後、連合軍はベルギーの補給基地化を急ぎ、10月には国境を越えドイツ国内のアーヘンに進出した。
しかしジークフリート線に近づくにつれ戦線は膠着し、兵力の逐次投入を迫られたアメリカ軍は、損耗した部隊をアルデンヌの森へ集め、再編成を行うこととした。

今年もラ・グレーズの虎はアントワープ入城を夢見ながら、渡れる橋を探して森の中を彷徨う。

In September 1944, after the failure of Operation Market Garden, the Allied forces hastened to establish a supply base in Belgium, and in October, they crossed the border and advanced into Aachen in Germany.
However, as they approached the Siegfried Line, the front lines became stalemated, and the American forces, forced to commit troops piecemeal, decided to gather their depleted units in the Ardennes Forest for reorganization.

This year, too, the Tiger of La Glaise wanders through the forest, searching for a bridge to cross, dreaming of entering Antwerp.
