voltorb and electrode (pokemon) drawn by swainathan

Artist's commentary

  • Original
  • So about Electrode and Voltorb, I have a quick headcanon reason why Kantonian form is here in “Eidosreplicara” while the Hisuian is in “Ambulaphyta”:

Due to striking differences between the anatomies of both organisms (known colloquially as Voltorb and Electrode) and the challenge of sequencing their genome, taxonomists hotly debate the placement of their phylogeny.
