Red Hood
This artwork is part of an ongoing series of original studies focused on translating photographic references into digital illustration, using a cosplay photo of the character Red Hood, from the game GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, as the main reference.
The primary goal of this study was to analyze and adapt real-world elements—such as lighting, body volumes, materials, folds, and reflections—into a stylized illustrative language, while preserving the visual identity of the original character. Based on the photographic reference, the work explores anatomical interpretation, the behavior of synthetic fabrics, the shine of leather, and the interaction of light across different surfaces, seeking a balance between realism and a game/anime-inspired aesthetic.
This piece continues a sequence of exercises aimed at improving:
form reading from real-life photographic references
adaptation of poses and proportions for illustration
material studies (leather, metal, fabric)
control of lighting, contrast, and final rendering
This artwork is not an official promotional piece and is an independent study, created for learning, practice, and artistic development purposes, respecting the original work while exploring new visual approaches derived from real-world references.
