Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes (better known as El Mencho, the leader of CJNG) died in Tapalpa, Jalisco, Mexico, on 2026 Feb 22 (archived). The CJNG has been and currently is (as of 2026 Mar 08) retaliating against the Mexican government by instigating violence throughout the country.
