I don't think that's a teapot. My in-laws have one (looks almost exactly the same in the image just cleaner) but theirs is a a coffee percolator. The bottom half screws off so you can put water in and a metal basket fits over that with the grounds. It just sits on any source of sufficient heat. They're useful for camping.
