Assuming the Male character isnt dense, he wouldn't really wanna accept those chocolates anyway. It's not like her inner feelings changed over night. So she still probably hates him, but is still being fake friends to keep family connections.

Or he'd accept the obligation chocolates and find another girl who is more worth his time that actually likes him for who he is.
