I feel like Ran is supposed to be hakumen no mono from Ushio to tora as she is sometimes depicted as such, can anyone confirm.

At least some of the Pixiv viewers think so as well; there are two reader-added, Hyakumen-related tags on the image.

I'm also amused by Yamame's title of "Aku Daikan" (Scum Magistrate), which parallels the villain name of Aku Daikhan (Evil Magistrate/Great Khan) from Tonosaman/Steel Samurai, the show-within-a-game from the Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney series. However, I suspect it's just coincidence here.

I suspect that you are right but I'd really love for it to not be a coincidence.

There should be more pics of Ran as the hakumen no mono.

Transformed Ran remind me the transformed Dark Elf from Final Fantasy IV...

At least one or two responders on Pixiv said as much too. Mizuki-san responded that seeing comments mentioning BEWD or Hyakumen really gives him a sense of the generation gap.

In my case I doubt it's a generation gap as much as a small reference pool...
