　わたしは弾むような声で挨拶をして、テーブルの横に立った。隣には、いつものように涼しい顔をした相棒、ネネちゃんが寄り添っている。
　私たちの衣装は、トップレスに、食い込みのきついハイレグTバック。隠す布なんてほとんどないから、二人が並ぶと、お互いの柔らかな二の腕や腰が触れ合い、体温がダイレクトに伝わってくる。ネネちゃんの肌の、さらさらとして温かい質感が心地いい。
　……あ、まただ。 お客様たちの視線が、私たちの腰回りや、触れ合っている肌の隙間に集中している。その視線は雄弁だ。
　『この二人、本当にデキてるんじゃないか？』という好奇心が、言葉にしなくても空気で伝わってくる。
　いつもなら、私が適当に誤魔化すところだけど……今日はネネちゃんが早かった。 　彼女は私の腰に回した手にキュッと力を込めると、お客様たちに向かって完璧な「営業スマイル」を向けた。
「ふふ。皆さん、そんなに期待した目で見ないでください」
　ネネちゃんの声は、透き通るように綺麗で、でもどこか一線を引いたプロの響きだった。
「夢を壊すようですけど……わたしたち、百合営業カップルでーす」
　きっぱり。 ネネちゃんはそう言い切った。「あくまでお仕事です」というポーズを崩さない、彼女なりのプライドだ。
　……もう、ネネちゃんってば。そんなにムキになって否定しなくてもいいのに。その必死さが、なんだか可愛くて、いじらしくて。わたしの中の悪戯スイッチが、パチンと入ってしまった。
　わたしはネネちゃんの肩に頭をコテンと乗せ、そのさらさらの黒髪に頬をすり寄せた。 ネネちゃんの身体が、ビクッと強張るのが分かる。
「えー？ネネちゃん、そんなこと言っていいのぉ？」
　わたしは上目遣いでお客様たちを見渡し、口元に人差し指をあてて、内緒話をするように囁いた。
「営業っていうのは本当だけどぉ……」
　そのまま、ネネちゃんの耳元に唇を寄せるふりをして、お客様に聞こえるようにはっきりと付け加える。
「……でも。ときどきガチでーす」
　ドッ、とお客様たちが沸き上がる。口笛や冷やかしの声が飛び交う中――。
「……ッ」
　隣のネネちゃんは、声を上げなかった。ただ一瞬、息を呑んで硬直しただけ。
　でも。わたしの腰に回された指先が、ムギュッと、脇腹の柔らかいお肉をつねった。
「い……っ！」
「…………」
　ネネちゃんは、お客様へ向けた完璧な笑顔をなんとか保っている。けれど、その白い耳は茹でダコみたいに真っ赤だし、宙を彷徨う瞳は、行き場をなくしてとろんと潤んでしまっている。それが何より、隠しきれない「答え合わせ」になってしまっていた。
　あーあ、あとで更衣室で怒られるかな？ でも、こんなに動揺して可愛くなっちゃうなら、お説教くらい安いものだよね！

"Welcome! Thank you for joining us today!"

I greeted the table with a bouncy voice, stepping up to the side. Next to me, my partner Nene was snuggled up close, wearing her usual cool expression.

Our costumes were topless with tight, high-leg T-backs. With hardly any cloth to hide us, standing side-by-side meant our soft upper arms and waists were touching, transmitting our body heat directly to one another. Nene’s skin felt smooth and warm—a pleasant, comforting texture.

Next to me, Nene didn't make a sound. She just gasped and froze for a split second.

But. The fingertips wrapped around my waist, trembling slightly as if clinging to me for dear life, squeezed the soft meat of my side mercilessly.

Nene managed to keep that perfect smile plastered on her face for the customers. But her white ears were dyed bright red, and her eyes were wandering helplessly, swimming in moisture. That reaction, more than anything, was the undeniable "answer key" to the secret.
