There is almost certainly a typo here. Either 襲いかかる or 襲い掛かる would be fine (they are the same thing written differently), but their "combination", 襲い掛かかる, is not. (Or maybe I'm wrong, I'm not very well versed in the moon runes)didn't make herfeel afraidor frustrated.Instead, it put a gleam in her eyes.
