Why were people being spirited away to there?That abandoned shrine is the border between our world and Gensou Town.Perhaps its role is to keep that other world invisible? It's like a Barrier.Since the route was originally open to the public, some inconveniences arose.And so a shrine was built on the location.A barrier was established, and that other world was sealed off.
