Regarding the aircraft request, I think it's supposed to be an SBD Dauntless, as that's the closest match for the general shape of the canopy and fuselage, but the shape of the wings and nose section are off and I don't really feel confident tagging it as that. Maybe it's an A6M Zero in USN colors, but again the general shape of the fuselage just doesn't look right. It just isn't drawn that well, to be honest, which is very unusual from this artist.

Looking at the tail (more visible in the top right) it's definitely a Zero in USN colors.
