Have seen a fair few make that comparison, including holocaust survivors.
Also, is that number meant to be the death toll? If so, then depending on when this is supposed to take place, it is a gross underestimate. The ability to reliably count the dead has long since collapsed, but current conservative estimates puts the figure at around half a million, majority of them children. Especially after that blockade was established.

Confirmed deaths have been at 67k, but thousands upon thousands are still yet to be recovered from the rubble. Half a million or not, if you see thousands of civilians dead, your concern shouldn't be if the numbers are accurate, rather the question should be why the world allowed for such tragedy to happen.

As I said, those number are old, and the half a million figure is again, just an estimate. As previously stated, the ability to count broke down ages ago. That 60 thousand figure is just the last confirmed number we've got. Also, it only accounts for direct deaths. It does not account for those crushed under rubble or starved to death due to the blockade induced famine.
(And as a side note, but one would think it strange that the 60k number is over a year old and yet it has not seemed to climbed in spite of the intensified attacks and oppression. The more you stop and think about it the more clear it becomes just how out of date it is. Unfortunatley, the best we have right now are those estimates. The full scale we won't really know until the dust settles, provided they don't try to scrub it from history. )
