Sadly relatable. I have yet to find a game where halberds aren't just recoloured spears. Even if Elden Ring and all these Souls games have a lot of issues, they still offer a rare brand of fun that I have yet to find anywhere else.
Well, dear. Because (most of the times) difficulty in Souls games is an actual test of skill and perseverance, not delegated to a difficulty slider or was it designed out of pure sadism by choice (coughSilkSongcough) so I would rather I get my ass handed to me because I failed to notice the paragraphed super hyper one-hit attack than because the enemies are all jacked up on steroid.
Come home from a long day at work, sit down at the computer to unwind with a nice round of Euro Truck Simulator, Netherlands to Slovakia. Gotta grind for that 18-wheeler! Suddenly it occurs to me for the first time how Elden Ring "The Netherlands" sounds.
There's some current or historical places with names like that, my sleeper fav is 'Abyssinia', like, I wouldn't be lining up to fight warriors from the abyss. Even learning that it's actually Ethiopia wouldn't make me too confident. They never got Ethiopia. Still, I'll bet playing Ethiopia in Hearts of Iron 4 would provide you that exact sort of face-grinding !!Fun!! As former dev DDRJake once said in his endless challenge runs, "If you have one edge, you can win, but I am feeling positively spherical right now."
