Something that's just never mentioned in Akogarete is the fact that there are NO MEN and yet children are being born (I'm serious, look at every single street scene and you will see only girls and women). Barring scientific shenanigans (which could be possible), one could reasonably assume that the ONLY way to reproduce in the Akogarete universe is that women in this world somehow have the ability to naturally share their genetic material and impregnate each other - and they will always give birth to girls.
So, according to our world's logic, yes, they're all gay. According to *their* logic, the lack of men means there's no heterosexuality to compare homosexuality to, so what's 'gay' to us is, for them, just the default standard. It kinda doesn't make sense for Utena to think 'oh no I'm attracted to girls' since... well, there's nothing else to be attracted to in this world.

Or, maybe this is a world where all men are forced indoors all the time for some reason. And any indoors scenes are when they aren’t nearby.
OR, we just so happen to coincidentally be shown areas and days where males are all gone.
