Error: Sample couldn't be created: CMYK JPEGs are not supported; please convert to RGB

^ Basically the error I received on one of the files i attempted to upload today. I'm just concerned about any potential loss in quality if I covert it.

Is this a known issue? Because its the first I've actually encountered it on this site.

Just 1 issue after another while attempting to upload it an image host to provide a mirror link. But heres a DDL to image in question

The message is at the very least misleading, because JPEG images normally don't use RGB color space but YCbCr.

I guess the thumbnail and sample creation tools don't support CMYK. But manually converting it will definitely incur a quality loss, it's not a 1:1 mapping.

CMYK if i recall doesn't display correctly if not at all on most browsers maybe that's the reason why support isn't available.

I've run into this error as well. I was trying to upload this image but got the same message. It's a rare thing, but not unheard of.
