post #739439 - a 'decensored' photoshop edit of this image exists (post #16781), so why is the original unedited version not acceptable? I had gathered from reading decensored that the originals of any edited images here should generally be posted. (That said, the subject seems a little confused with the decensored tag now being aliased to uncensored...)

post #739446 and post #739447 - Any particular reason these two were shot down? Mediocre artwork? Subject matter too bland/generic? A case of simply not being interesting enough overall, perhaps?

It isn't like everyone was looking between the two and deciding "this one is fine, but this one isn't". The posts were uploaded four years apart. Standards change, approving staff change, but mostly it was just that one picture happened to luck out. Neither picture is very acceptable.

Same with the other two. As the wiki entry for game cg says:

90% of in-game art is completely bland and featureless, with very little originality by design.

Those posts aren't terrible or rule-breaking, they just aren't good either. Mediocre, yes.

Believe it or not, even I really do realize that the vast majority of game_cg are absolute crap. After recently sifting through more CG sets than I care to remember, trying to ID a bunch of source-unknown images, I think the amount is more like 99.9% at the barest minimum. And, believe it or not, I really do try to be that selective when picking images to post.

So with that said, it's really frustrating when I honestly am trying to be selective to that degree when posting, only to then still find my posts rejected. It can't be a matter of not being selective enough - rather, it seems to be a difference in the criteria used to decide just which images are in that top fraction of a percent. These two posts in question I picked to post mainly on the basis of originality of subject - something which I weigh heavier than most, it seems...
