Assuming the statute of limitations for appeals hasn't run out for me on it, that is.
Can't speak for all the mod/janitor/admins, but I tend not to approve gif, cap, or photo posts, which happen to include the above.
They aren't against the rules, but they tend to be meh, or borderline off-topic in my mind. If they stand out as amazing I might approve them occasionally, but otherwise I usually don't.
I like animated gifs a lot, but that has likely resulted in my being fairly critical when judging them instead of being lenient. For me if the gif doesn't tell a story of some kind (no matter how short) or isn't at least "interesting" (highly subjective I know) I won't approve them. As for caps and photos I'll only approve them if I think they're rather good, but I typically find that most caps are fairly poor, the same as most photos.
As a person who also puts together gifs, I at least don't want to discourage you from continuing to make them.

I virtually never approve photo posts of any kind whatsoever.
I approve caps when they're well done stitches of something interesting, or an attractive eyecatch shot from at least a 720p raw.
I approve animated .gifs infrequently, and something really interesting needs to be happening. Mugi is looking obscenely cute there (as always) but I guess it just didn't jump out at me as something to approve.

I take issue with approving these, especially the first one. It's a shitty CG with no value and a lot of lens flare.
