can't find pool in 'add to pool' dropdown

Posted under General

Hi, first-time contributor here. I'm having trouble adding a newly uploaded file to a pool. I looked hard, but could not find any guides on attaching posts to pools, so I assume it's too trivial to talk about it and should just be done by clicking 'add to pool' and then picking the right pool by name. However, I can't find it on the list for some reason.

The pool: post #855976

The best way to add a post to a pool is to forget the dropdown menu and just put "pool:2942" in the tag list (the Edit link directly below the post). However, the reason that won't work here--and the reason it isn't listed in the dropdown menu--is because the pool is marked "Inactive".

Edit the pool (http://danbooru.donmai.us/pool/update/2942) and check the "Active" box, then add the pool to the post's tag list.

Well, eventually all my posts expired and got auto-deleted. Thanks for your assistance, but I will refrain from any further activities until danbooru solves its huge approval backlog problem.

You do that and you'll never post again.

I included the pool tag, but apparently it won't show up until approved.

Incorrect. It didn't show up because you didn't add it correctly. You probably didn't check the Active box like I told you to. The pool's active now.

There's still 20+ more pages to upload...

The appeal thread is forum #12247. And in the future, when uploading a large sequence of images, it's best to upload just a few images at a time to test the waters, and continuing once those few get approved. Though I can't really blame you for that given the large number of existing posts. Successfully adding those images to the pool may have improved their chances of being approved. If you appeal, add them to the pool first.
