So, I was going to post a few images from the artist scorci (https://scorci.carrd.co/)
But! There's already an existing artist tag for them, but I don't know if it's actually them or someone with the same name.
Also the existing tag has a single post, but it seems to be deleted already, ugh.
What should I do?

If you click the "?" next to the tag name for an artist, it will take you to the artist entry, in this case artist #187426. There you will see that the URL you mentioned is already listed among the ones for that artist, meaning that they are one and the same.

Also, you can search from the Artist by URL by clicking "Artists" in the top menu and entering the URL into the search form. If you do, you'll also get the same artist.

Oh, shit, I was going to clear what I had did but forgot. *I* was the one that added all of those links. I talked to the artist and they said they didn't mind me giving them a tag on danbooru, but I don't want to steal the tag if it's actually for a different artist. (even though the post is apparently deleted)

Also, why does it give them a "domain" as patreon? I saw no way to remove/edit it when I was adding the URLs. Even if I remove the patreon link, it seems to stay, unless dbooru needs a few minutes to show the changes for it or something.

It's a counter for how many posts are sourced to what website under that artist tag, the fact that it currently shows "patreon.com: 1" means that the only uploaded post is sourced from Patreon.

Sorry, looks like I misunderstood your question. You created artist #187426 but then saw that it already had a post under that tag, and yes, that post is by the same artist. However, if you would have looked around you would have found artist #147606 which is the artist tag used for the majority of that artist's posts.

I went ahead and moved all scorsi posts to scorsheep, merged the artist entries, and deleted the superfluous one.

Ah, thank you! I probably should have looked around for their art yea, but I'm surprised you found those four images so quick, how did you do it?
Just so I have a good method in the future if I end up tidying up small-time artist tags..

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the artists page has a search form where you can search by URL.

To verify that the image was the same artist, I did a SauceNAO search and located the image on Pixiv. Searching by that account using the URL search mentioned above validated that the image belonged to that artist.
