They were deleted because they went unapproved. I'm not an approver but the faces do look quite off respectfully. That + more NSFW uploads have a harder time making it.

On a related note, something selfish on my part, can I (re)appeal posts I uploaded 2-3 months ago that went unapproved? I did try to appeal some posts in the past (I didn't think most of them were really that horrible), but they were ignored and deleted again. I've considered just letting them sit there and only try to appeal the newer posts, but my post limit has taken too much of a beating, and I might very well run out of upload slots in the near future, so I had to ask this...

The commentary and tagging on a post don't change how likely a post is to be approved.

Not a fan of the faces this artist does. You run the risk of losing a lot of slots with a large variant set.

I'm not a fan of the faces this artist draws sometimes. These ones in particular seem the worst of the bunch compared to the ones that are active.
Also yes you can appeal posts yourself, once per post. It's usually best to wait a little while before appealing so that you don't run the risk of having the exact same approvers seeing the post again. It's also worth appealing when you think you're going to be uploading less so that the 3 post limit penalty for appealing affects you less. Might also be worth it to wait until you have more slots (try analyse your deleted posts to see what does and doesn't work in modqueue).

You're only overtagging if you're mass adding tags that are not applicable to the post, which you did not. Either way, the tags basically have no bearing on whether a post is approved or not. Approvers only really care about the quality and content of the actual image and, of course, the source as well.
Regarding the reason why the post has not been approved, I think it's because her forearm is shorter and her hand is smaller than they should be, considering the angle and position of her right arm. The bad angle of her bowtie also makes her chest proportions look off.
