not my posts but curious why these ones aren't approved? the first two were flagged low quality which puzzles me because i can't tell what aspects of the post would be low quality (wagered if they went through the modqueue twice they prob wouldnt make it if i appealed)
post #8323282 post #8323289 post #9669131

also wanted to know why these posts of mine slipped through queue, if there's any particular reason
post #9732183 (s)

Don't know why these posts were deleted? Maybe my tagging was inadequate? This was my first time posting, and I assumed I had a 20 tag limit. I know 3d art isn't generally accepted, but compared to a lot of other 3d posts, i think the shading is very good and the expressions are poses are well done.

You are not limited to 20 tags per post. There is a limit if I remember correctly, but it’s so absurdly high that the vast majority of posts will never even get close to that number. Many posts can’t be adequately tagged with just 20, and a few posts have over a hundred tags.

Also, while every user should thoroughly tag their uploads, it’s mostly irrelevant for getting posts approved. If a post was rejected, adding more tags won’t help with that. Tags don’t affect the art quality, after all.

Then is this art's quality not good enough? I submitted 15 of these when that upgrade raffle was happening, and i imagine lots od people also posted as much as they could during those 3 days so i can imagine they didn't stand out back then, but maybe now it might be accepted?

It looks too close to the parent and the parent was uploaded 1st. If there's any differences between them, put it in the appeal comment

I get what you mean but here's the thing, several duplicate posts have been made and approved before, it even says in the notes: "Do not flag a duplicate post for deletion if your only reason is that the post is a duplicate. Parent them to the superior image instead."

So my question is still valid.

When an artist uploads a picture to both Twitter and Pixiv, Twitter will compress the image, and it's usually lower quality than the Pixiv version. If a picture from Twitter was uploaded first and approved, and you upload the Pixiv higher quality (bigger file size) version, it will likely get approved. But in your case, the Pixiv version was uploaded first, and you're uploading a smaller (2.31 MB vs 14.1 MB), lower quality version from Twitter.

The notes you quoted only refer to flagging, not uploading or approving.

To quote help:upload, "if your image has already been uploaded, only upload if you have a higher quality copy." Your post isn't. Approvers are less likely to approve duplicates of inferior or comparable quality, if they know it's a duplicate. For example, post #9442588 was approved (within 30 minutes) before someone could parent it or tag it as a duplicate. post #9460462 was approved after five and a half hours, but didn't get tagged duplicate until the next day. On the other hand, post #9646732 was tagged just six minutes after upload (and was already parented by the uploader). Your post was parented (by me) just two hours after upload. I don't know whether any Approver looked at your post before I parented it, though.

That said, and this is to everyone, please don't take it as encouragement to deceptively upload duplicates without parenting it or adding the duplicate tag. There should be a list of similar images when you're uploading a post; please check that before submitting.
