Artist alias request thread

I am saying that the artist `pokkora` has moved to `poccora`, but I am not aware of whether older or newer name is preferred.
In the case of `pokkore`, given the clash with `pokkora`'s new name, I do not know if alias is the correct solution vs moving the tags or renaming the tag, given that uploads may mistake the 2 artists if the tags are not disambiguated properly.

The archive links are to show that this was the account on the basis of which the initial `poccora` tag was made, and that that is outdated and should no longer be used, in favor of `pokkore`.

It's possible that the final result should be `pokkore` and `pokkora` tags where `poccora` could refer to either, I do not know if that is correct for the site conventions.

@spicemace Whichever name the artist currently prefers is the one that we use, however we don't use "rename" to update names except in specific circumstances, it should be "alias" instead (which you can change here).

There won't be a conflict because the person currently using the handle is tagged as pokkora which is not the same as pokkore. There are lots of artist with similar tag names; this can be changed in the future if it's pulling up the wrong search, but for taggers they should be looking at what they're typing/using translated tags to get the right artist tag to a post.

As for the explanation of the archive links, this still doesn't help me because they're not showing a link between any of the other accounts, they're just random posts and proof that the handle existed. There's no media or other URLs present on the page that could establish a connection between the Twitter account and the other accounts in the entry.

I see, apologies, I did not understand.
On this artist tag page, the artist current pixiv is https://www.pixiv.net/users/66645 which uses spelling "pokkore ポッコレ", this pixiv also links to a banned twitter account which uses spelling "pokkorehobby", and there are several more URLs on the artist page using this spelling.

For the archive links:
https://pokkoya.booth.pm/items/5521943 is an item sold by this artist's Booth/Circle, and the second archive link https://web.archive.org/web/20220725063941/https://twitter.com/poccora/status/1551061746965966849 shows them selling this item in-person at whichever event they were attending. There are further images available on archive.org showing them working on the prototype garage kit for this item, and I can include those if necessary, but I am not sure if this is necessary.

My only purpose including this link is to show that the old poccora twitter account was this same artist, but my main concern is that they no longer use this name at all and so their tag should be renamed and not aliased. Moreover, another artist has begun using this name with this specific spelling (https://skeb.jp/@poccora_), so an alias may cause the two to be confused between each other and incorrectly tagged (I understand that that artist is tagged as `pokkora` currently, but that artist does not use that spelling).
I apologize if including this information caused confusion and was not necessary.

Handled at forum #396406. It should still be an alias; it can be revisited in the future if it actually does cause a real problem with tagging or searching. pokkore significantly predates pokkora as an artist tag and neither of them are frequently uploaded enough that it might cause a real conflict. Old names should be preserved if possible.
