Possible tag: playing_soccer

The unspoken rule is that if an image has a soccer ball or a soccer uniform, it can also be tagged soccer.

I'd like to see together the images of people actually playing soccer. There are two ways to achieve that:

1. Either creating playing soccer.
2. Or just restricting soccer to images of people playing the game.

My favorite is the first way, because it is more intuitive; it does not require reading the description of the tag. All the other tags of sports (Tag group:Sports) could follow suit.

In this case, wouldn't simply a playing_sports tag suffice? One could narrow down the active by using the tag in combination with the sport's name or a sports object.

There is also the playing_games tag which states "Games that would fall under the sports tag, for now, should not use the playing games tag." Which would at least suggest that the sport tag (undefined currently) refers to images in which the activity is being played.

Um... no it isn't. I even explicitly explained why in one of your previous threads: forum #68166.

Sorry for the confusion. However, as you already know, I understood and accepted your explanation from forum #68166.

When I said, in this thread (forum #68570), "The unspoken rule is that if an image has a soccer ball or a soccer uniform, it can also be tagged soccer.", I was just referring to how sports tags are actually used, even if your arguments prove that current usage is faulty.

Having playing soccer and soccer separately could be one way to improve our coverage.

Alternatively, I agree that having playing sports and soccer separately is a better idea.

I populated playing sports with posts, as a result of this thread.
