About "decensored"

The tag decensored has an elaborate description that explains it is a subset of uncensored.

However, it is an alias to uncensored. Is that right? I think the description of "decensored" should be deleted, if nobody cares to make a distinction between posts that were actually "decensored" by someone, or were drawn "uncensored" without the help of a de-censor.

It would make more sense as an implication. The two concepts are different as you say.

If someone wants to do this huge cleanup work, that's fine, too.

But, since "decensored" is an alias to "uncensored", apparently these two tags have exactly the same contents, so the volunteer in question would have to start from 0.

It would take awhile but assuming they get separated I volunteer.

This wiki is outdated.
Right now posts decensored are simply tagged photoshop (and most likely deleted short after).

The wiki isn't outdated, the alias was created without discussing it. If someone hadn't created it, that wiki would still be valid. I for one do not support that alias, and would support removing it.

What would we use "uncensored" for if not to mean the end result of decensoring something? Is the idea to have every explicit image have either censored or uncensored on it? Seems excessive to me.

As opposed to an image that is presented in both a censored fashion.

Basically

Decensored - Implies the image was censored to begin with.
Uncensored - Implies that is the way the image was originally drawn.

While linked the distinction comes from how the imaged ended up "uncensored".

No, nothing would change what we have now except that "uncensored" images would be of two distinct groups.

Aren't "decensored" images not supposed to be allowed under the same subset/concept as nude filters anyway?

It is listed in the ToS under the nude filter category, but I would say there is a lot more room to actually do it in a manner that might get approve. Depending on the area censored and the type of censoring, "decensoring" an image might be as simple as making the censored area switched to a negative to make the image uncensored.
