Flagging and appealing

So, I figured out that regular Members like me can use the new flag/appeal system that is summarized at http://danbooru.donmai.us/post_appeal. However, I'm not sure about how the system operates. When I read Albert's explanation in forum #59549, I get the impression that a post is supposed to be deleted automatically if it has a three-day-old flag that hasn't been resolved by re-approval. Several other posts in forum #58882 mention that auto-delete is currently bugged and does not happen. In any case, post appeals in themselves do not stop or prolong the deletion countdown, nor do additional flags hasten it. Is there anyone who can confirm or correct my understanding?

That said, it does seem like flagged posts are getting deleted, just not on a three-day timer. Is albert running the script to prune flagged posts irregularly, or is some kindly admin going through and manually deleting posts?

It's an irregular script or albert is manually doing them when he feels like it.

The autodelete should be working and runs once a day. The algorithm is basically when the oldest flag is three days old, the post gets deleted. If this isn't happening then let me know.

There is definitely some mysterious behavior going on. For example, post #104649 has been sitting undeleted with a single flag for weeks now. On the other hand, post #801838 and post #726974 were both deleted after being flagged once. And I'm pretty sure that the latter two posts were flagged after post #104649.

post #104649, post #881159, and post #902322 seem to be the only existing ones older than 3 days judging by their queue position.

Can we get some more information put in the flagging page? People keep flagging images that haven't been approved, it might help if we told them not to do that on the flag page.
