What is the difference between "wedgie" and "flossing"?

Posted under General

The wiki says that "flossing" is "clothing wedged between or being pulled between the vulva or buttocks" and "wedgie" is "The condition of "wedging" (i. e. pulling) a garment or a piece of underwear between the buttocks. The action of giving a wedgie is usually done as a practical joke.". But the "practical joke" aspect is not evident from the way the tag is used.

I'd go with wedgie, because even though it's often thought of as something done as a joke, it's no less common to refer to a the wedging as a wedgie even if nobody did it to you. Flossing seems a bit ambiguous. Though maybe there's a better term than either of those.

I'm not sure there is a difference based on your descriptions, and your descriptions match the definitions I'm familiar with. Provided there isn't a difference I'm unaware of, I also side with wedgie, as I find it less ambiguous.

...what do we do if we find a picture of someone who is actually, well, flossing in the traditional sense? I can't imagine there are many such pictures, but given the number of pictures there are in Danbooru, I wouldn't be surprised to have a few.

Since the consensus in this thread seems to be to use wedgie for wedgies, I guess you would tag flossing with flossing.
