I'm new to contributing to danbooru, I've added translations to only a few posts so far. Is there any guideline for how and when you should translate onomatapoeia sounds? When I looked through translated posts, some translate all the sounds, but others leave them be. Is it fine to mark a post as translated if I don't translate the onomatapoeia?
I'm not a translator, but from what I've seen, it's generally a-okay to leave onomatapoeias alone unless they're important to the post in some way. It seems to really depend on the translator on if they get translated or not (which seems fairly typical of scanlations and other types of fanmade translations off Danbooru). So I say go with your gut on any given post.
