Regarding untagged AI-assisted art

Posted under General

I've noticed a couple of drawings on here get removed for being AI-assisted. But, I'd like to know how people know the art is AI assisted since for the most part this type of artwork isn't tagged as AI art on sites like Pixiv or Twitter and the artist doesn't clarify in the description either. I have no issue spotting AI art due to the inconsistencies and features which look off, but ai-assisted is a whole different thing.

Can you link to some examples? Looking through the most recent AI-assisted status:deleted posts, the only ones I can see that were manually deleted (post #7097105, post #7097135) were also tagged with AI-generated (which is strange as I thought the two tags were mutually exclusive). AI-assisted works aren't against the rules, but I'd imagine they'd be less likely to get approved depending on how much assistance there is. They'd still likely be automatically deleted after three days instead of being manually deleted.

By tagged I'm referring to the source website (twitter, pixiv, etc). Usually there is a tag or keyword that indicates that AI was used but in some cases the artist doesn't include them.
These are approved but still an example of posts where it doesn't indicate anywhere that they were assisted by AI in the source.

I'm just asking how to spot these considering I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a high quality drawing on Pixiv and I want all the artwork I upload to be tagged properly.

In this case the artist says they use AI for backgrounds on their Twitter bio. I'm not good at detecting the use of AI to assist either, so I can't help with that.

Reading through the AI-Generated Art Thread (topic #22285) might help. Users often mention the techniques they use to identify them. Some of the items listed in the AI-generated wiki may also be applicable to AI-assisted works.

That said, if you have any doubts on whether a post uses AI to any extent, I recommend asking in that thread before adding any AI tags. Being falsely accused of using AI can cause big problems for artists and some users have been overzealous in flagging posts they suspect were made with AI.
