poor drawn ?

Posted under General

I posted seven pics a while ago and they were all deleted because they were poorly drawn. I got the seven pics I uploaded back and looked at them carefully and aside one I couldn't see one that was poorly drawn or as the rule states displayed poor understanding of human proportion or perspective. So I just wondering why were my pics deleted?

wouldn't that make the rule of poorly draw art flawed?

It's like how clubs have a "proper attire required" sign. It's just an excuse to kick you out without giving you a good reason. Poorly drawn is entirely subjective, yes. It means the moderators can delete anything they don't like.

Can, though I hope people know we don't always. Even today I approved images I didn't like at all. Hell, I downvoted a few and then still approved. I didn't like them but I couldn't find a good justification for deleting them and stopping *everyone* from viewing them.

I see now, it makes sense. I not trying to play with fire or anything, but can I somehow re-upload the images or should I just forget about it and move on

move on and post new pictures. no point for them to be deleted again

Also imho I think this should be added as a rule, I think in the past was one of them?

It's really just common sense. I probably wouldn't hunt you down and ban you just for individual cases of re-uploads (assuming it was me who previously deleted the pics in the first place), but repeated doing of that would be pretty sure to be annoying enough to take some corrective action. However, *I* wouldn't mind you re-uploading with a well-written comment why you disagree with deletion and think it should be in danbofoo, unless it's particularly egregious, in which case I'd probably seek a jail for complete lack of taste :). This is my opinion, however, and I can't tell about other mods, so probably some kind of rule (or at least consensus expressed by more than just one mod) would be good if we are to allow arguing.

Oh, and in the specific case of animeboy12, while I don't believe I deleted many of your pics, I'm sure I have approved almost none of them, as your taste in breasts is the exact opposite of mine and I find most of your sumbissions to be "ewwww". So it is quite possible that someone else with similar feelings to mine deleted them instead of passing the decision onto someone else.

meh...everyone has different tastes. I just stinks to have them all deleted just because somebody doesn't like them,I mean it's art. Well anyway I'll follow your advice and re-upload them later *much later* with an explanation. Thank you for help.

There is such thing as good art and bad art. Usually the easiest way to distinguish them is awkward angles. If a face has sharp edges all over, it's probably not a really good drawing. There are a lot of other little cues as well. Length of face and other body parts, shading, a lot of things go into a good picture.

A better distinguishing method is to use good taste, but unfortunately not everyone has that.

wait what?
if the MODS don't like the pictures they get deleted?
isn't that kinda...*insert vulgar statement here*
i mean okay, rules are rules, but i'm not gonna upload 1000s of pics, just to have more than half of them deleted.

Only if the mod in question judges only by their personal tastes, which generally they should not be doing. Only Albert can really get away with that since he owns the site =P

I am a mod, and I do not decline images based purely on my tastes. So no, not all the mods do it.

What's called "taste" should really be called "interpretation of the rules based on one's own perspective", which is still subjective, but not quite so subjective as "I don't like it so I'm going to delete it even though it's otherwise acceptable."

The former is just a sign that we're only human. The latter is not okay.

As I understand it, that was one of the primary reasons Danbooru shut itself down to the general public for a while. A lot of people were posting poor quality stuff, and in genres the people actually paying to host the site disliked. The other reason was the fact that it gets really expensive to host such a high-bandwidth service, especially when anyone can post anything willy-nilly.

The art I was uploading was not poorly drawn the way kumarei put it, but all the characters in the in the pics did pretty huge breasts *milk tank huge* but I gave them all the big breast tag so I don't get what the problem was. I wish there was a way to see which mod approved and disapproved peoples pics.I just want to too know why they did and if I can re-upload them without getting banned.

Obscenely large breasts are usually grouped together with guro. See the /d/ board on 4chan.
