Artist seems to have been shafted

Posted under General

I don't know how to word this in a way that doesn't sound like I might be asking for approval, so I'm going to ask for opinions instead. What do you folks of this artist's artstyle, and should 11 out of 12 of artworks under their name remain deleted?

I will add, however, that a builder had commented on the last one doubting its approval, so perhaps there really is a sort of bias against some military-oriented artists. I get that some artworks does invite some more "intrusive opinions," and if that's the case, I can understand why the website is hesitant on approving them, and hence why the only artwork that was made by the artist, is a duck holding a gun.

Approvers will typically skip posts they're not interested in or that they don't think meet the site's quality standards. They're not supposed to take potential comments into account. Besides, there are tens of thousands of military-themed posts that were approved, as can be seen with a military approver:any search, so being military-themed shouldn't lessen a post's chances of getting approved very much.

I'm not an approver myself, but I think the art not being good enough is a more plausible reason. Most of the artwork appears flat and the eyes often look the same size even when the person's head isn't directly facing the viewer. I don't think the posts are horrible, but they're definitely less polished than what normally gets approved. The duck post looks significantly better and that could be because the design is simpler, the colors are more solid than the gradients the artist normally uses, and there is no scenery background, meaning the artist doesn't have to contend with adding realistic depth.

Again, I'm not an approver, so don't take this as official advice for judging artwork quality.

If you want feedback from approvers on the posts you uploaded specifically, you can ask in the Upload Feedback thread (topic #7934).

Much appreciated reply and yes, I can understand that there's an abundance of them. I also wasn't aware of the feedback forum, so you have many of my thanks.

I agree, I particuarly dislike the faces and arms in grzegorz1996's posts overall, but not enough to skip them for poor quality.
