Official Syanago Collection Wiki Vandalized

Posted under General

I know, I shouldn’t be using the Forums for a discussion/Topic like this; but, it’s important for other Users (other than, me) who want to use the official Syanago Collection Wiki to Upload the game's CG to Danbooru. Especially, for users who know PukiWiki better than me. (That’s what the Syanago Wiki uses.)

As of writing, the Syanago Collection Wiki has been vandalized by scumbag spam-bots; in some (if not, most) of the pages with random ad-links. Specifically, the cars featured/anthropomorphized in-game. That's what I’m extremely concerned about. And, I need help from (at least) some users who even remotely care about the tag/cars in-general.

For example: for anyone, who to see the Original Source for the Toyota Supra, featured in-game. Sadly, you’re only going to see a stupid amount of spam-links. And, what’s worse; if, you know how to re-edit pages and reverse decisions/differences on PukiWiki, there’s also a chance that the person responsible for the spam-bot deleted the original code for the page. (i.e. the Supra's Wiki Page and what it looked like with the Wayback Machine, before the vandalism.)

I know, the site is going to be riddled with brain dead adware, since the publishers/developers/owners of the Wiki (Autoc-One a.k.a. MōTA) stopped caring; but, I desperately need help for porting most of the remaining CGs that’s still sourced onto the Wiki’s Database, on Danbooru.

Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. Please help me.

The Wayback Machine has the full list of characters sorted by manufacturer and it seems the pages are all accessible with the images intact. I would recommend you add as many of them as you can to media assets before uploading so you can be sure they won't disappear before you finish archiving these pieces.

I have saved a sizable amount of CG on my phone's Photo Gallery (mobile user); so, I don’t have to worry about that. However, my biggest issue is sourcing the images, by their original Artists in the list of Artists and VAs involved (which, some don’t have either, a Pixiv account nor a Twitter/X account. And, go by different names. Plus, directs you to the artist’s own personal website of their work, but doesn’t show their involvement in the game).

As for Sourcing the Images, I'll use the Wayback Machine links, instead. (At least, if the pages themselves are properly captured. And, if it’s allowed.)

I believe in this case it would be fine given that some of the pages have been irreparably vandalized. Just make sure to use archived source on those uploads.
