Nothing has been officially rejected yet. Nearly all of the discussion in this thread is just speculation. Unless evazion says anything about it, we have no idea whether or not we will start using crypto.

Oh really? Can you summarize the problem with it then? How about an FAQ page so people don't have to rifle through wherever these discussions took place?
Creating a "FAQ" for would be misleading (no one except the owner can definitively say what happens to paid upgrades) and a pointless endeavour. As you can see, for tens of pages the same question and answer is repeated and creating another page for people to read won't get them to read it, they'll just come back here. That's sort of why this thread has been left open.

MAYBE people keep coming back here because the question has never been answered? The owner hasn't chimed in on this, so how do you know a crypto option not being added "has nothing to do with not knowing how to use it"? Where is this confidence coming from? Until this is properly addressed, the payment processor thing is just an excuse.
It does get brought up but only once in a blue moon, it's not a hot topic. No one's really that interested since most of the active users there are Premium or above.

There's an admin reply on the previous page and while the owner hasn't posted here in the forum, he has talked before about using Crypto for non-Danbooru purposes (as in using it to pay). I know he knows how to use it because of his own words. It's relation to being implemented to Danbooru is a different story which isn't being pursued right now (evidently). It's really that simple.

That reply has nothing to do with crypto, but okay. So you've ruled out ignorance. That leaves laziness as the next simplest explanation for why users still can't upgrade their account after 3 years.

That being said, this dialogue - or attempted argument, acknowledging the not-so-light tone - is pretty representative of why this topic is open. You're free to speculate or be upset that Gold upgrades still aren't a thing, but regardless the answer currently remains the same; raffle or contribute. Though if you could project us into an alternate timeline where payment processors aren't recoiling at a site like Danbooru, that sure is another option.

We've established that's not an insurmountable barrier to Gold upgrades being brought back. I'd like payment processors to stop being used as an excuse.
By the way, never mind businesses, e-hentai takes crypto too.

The only thing that's been established here is that you're way more aggressive in this back and forth than necessary.
You don't know what's going on any better than anyone else here does. Hell, do you even know how crypto works? "It can't be that hard." doesn't sound like something someone with the authority to criticize others for not doing something would say.
The only people that know are the admins, and I'd imagine they're not going to say anything until they've decided on a solution, or have concluded there is no solution. Maybe crypto would be super easy to implement, I wouldn't know either, but maybe evazion just doesn't like crypto. Maybe he's working on some masterplan. Maybe real life is making it difficult for him to work on this problem, since running Danbooru isn't his job.
You can gripe about "excuses" all you want, but the fact is Gold upgrades are down because payment processors won't work with us, and the admins haven't implemented any alternatives, and no one knows what, if anything, they're considering to resolve this.

Danbooru is an archive, but Gelbooru and other websites host the same art without the restrictions on content or tag usage. You don't need Gold. You have four uploads and joined 5 months ago. If you want to use Gold features you can contribute to the website and work your way up to being a Builder.
I wouldn't blame evazion if he never implemented Gold upgrades again.

Is there a way to access things like hidden images and such by being someone who occasionally uploads?

It'll have to be more than occasionally (and/or supplemented by additional work curating the site), but yes--a Builder level account has the same if not superior privileges to Gold, see help:users.
