another thread ^_^;; about Midriff

The wiki for midriff says. "No clothes covering the belly or upper hips." And calls it sexual attire...

So I am a bit confused about it, and it seems like others are too. Since there are images that just have nudes, or someone with their shirt open. Even ones where the character is clearly wearing a bra.

So is midriff a different term on here?

I must be bored today.

I guess the tag should be used exactly how the wiki states. Nudes wouldn't qualify for me.

When you read "No clothes", you think "Top half nude".

Should I change it to include that a midriff is a clothing top?

I only tag midriff when there is at least a top or bottom to define it, preferably both.

I wouldn't say midriff is a kind of clothing, it's a body part. But one that is only distinct when contrasted by clothes.

I don't, but if you think it's ambiguous, I have no objection to you clarifying it further.

And I'm with shinji, it's a body part, and seeing it is not tied to a specific type of clothing.

To be honest I don't see the distinction there, for me I'd either tag both as midriff or both not.

Yuffie's usually a pretty good prototypical midriff character as in post #211588.

I got use to the thought of it being a clothing top, more than a body part.

The midriff is the part of the body between the hips and the chest.

The tag midriff is used for images where that part of the body is bare, though should not generally be applied to images of underwear/lingere or swimwear
