Mods are here to solve any matters that require special attention, that means unless you've been explicitly told not to mail someone on a specific matter, it's always okay to contact a mod if you believe there's something requiring their assistance. In particular:
0. If you're concerned about bothering us, don't be. However, if you really want to make our life easier, please be concise and to the point. Don't bother with flowery language, don't be verbose in an attempt to be polite. Just be reasonable and we will love you for not having to read a message three times as long as it needs to be.
1. If you need to report a problem, a misbehaviour, are in doubt about do's or don'ts, it's perfectly okay and encouraged to ask us. That's why we're here.
2. If you have been banned or got a record (note that not only mods can give records, though), you can always appeal that. That doesn't mean you will automatically get it lifted, but if you are responsive, reasonable and show that you actually listen to what the mod has to say, chances are good that you will succeed.
2a. In particular, if you got a record from me, it doesn't necessarily mean I hate your guts. I might be the bastard mod, but I'm trying to be fair as much as possible. Thus you can always come to me and talk about that.
3. Remember that following your personal inbox is much easier than following the general forum. Especially since at least for me it's buggy and doesn't track new threads properly. Thus, if you have a particular matter to discuss with a specific mod, it's much better to address them directly than to post in forum and expect them to see it.
