From the user page, hit the positive/negative/neutral link next to Feedback, then click New at the feedback page's menu bar. Mark it as a negative feedback and make sure to say it's spam in the body.

astor is a basic member and doesn't have the ability to do feedback.

EDIT: an admin just took care of it.

This wouldn't be for every dmail, presumably, but just for ones from accounts that haven't sent any dmails before. Privacy violations may still be a concern, however.

Also, +1 for deleting the 100+ pages of spambot bans in the feedback section.

I'm pretty sure we don't want moderators peeking into the contents of every dmail that gets sent.

Someone beat me to it, but that's looking just at newly minted accounts. It would just stop messages going out immediately. Whether what works for Adobe will work for Danbooru is the Admin's call.

I still say that messages and other actions should be tied to account age more than anything, combine it with something that would track the types of messages sent would be huge. Something to the line of :

7 day account age required to send messages.

Implement a timeout feature for messages sent, older accounts have a lower lockout.

Would adding a captcha to dmail messages also help? It could slow bulk sending. Again excluding older accounts.

Sooner or later bulk spammers would look for easier prey elsewhere rather than spending money to go around it.

Just got a link in a DM from user #479350. I've already left feedback.

Post a dmail permalink here please, or send it to mods, unless you've already deleted it. I'd like to verify its contents before handing out bans, user seems to be human judging by their prior activity.
