[Feature Idea] Use DanbooruBot for More Automated Messaging

Posted under Bugs & Features

This idea got brought up by Tapnek on topic #9127/p158.

Albert PM'ed me regarding "post that got criticized by moderators." Is this a new feature like Tagging Bot or Albert really PM'ed me personally?

This is a bot that contacts you if you have a post that got a "Detailed Rejection".

I think this is where the DanbooruBot account could get more use out of so people won't be confused on whether albert or not really did send those messages.

There are some automated messages that probably wouldn't be appropriate to migrate to DanbooruBot, like approver invites, but there are others like the above that would.

What do others think...? Would you like to see automated messages like the above come from the DanbooruBot account, or from the albert account?

issue #2893 does this. Two questions:

  • Should @mention dmails come from the mentioner or from DanbooruBot? If they come from the mentioner it's easier to see who mentioned you, but if they come from DanbooruBot it's easier to separate mention notices from "real" dmails from that user.
  • Should automatic "unapproved in three days" flags come from albert or DanbooruBot? On one hand it doesn't make sense to do this under albert's account, but on the other hand it's been this way so long maybe it's better to leave it alone so it's consistent.

Maybe split the difference on this. Have DanbooruBot be the dmailer, but include the mentioner in the dmail subject line...

E.g.: "You were mentioned by BrokenEagle98 in a forum topic"

Just my preference, but I'd like to see a bot do that... it would definitely make the flag report make a lot more sense...

Works for me. Handled in issue #2899.

One more thing: should tag edits from bulk updates/aliases/implications be performed by the requester, the request approver, or by DanbooruBot? Currently bulk updates are done by the request approver, but single tag alias/implication requests are done by the requester.

IMHO those should also be done by DanbooruBot. This would distinguish implications/aliases done by Admins themselves versus implications/aliases done by a regular user. Right now, it's currently unclear.

For those that care, credit is still given in the original BUR to the original requester.

Side topic

Just as an aside, would it be desired to have a report created for admin/moderator work? For example, listing the number of aliases/implications/BURs approved, the number of pools deleted, the number of moderator actions performed... basically anything that can only be done by Moderators and/or Admins. This could help distinguish which Admins/Moderators are more active during the current time period.

Thoughts?
