so waaiitt, What's the point of Blacklisting?

I mean, why add a blacklisting feature if when you're using the slideshow or the random post feature, it shows the post anyway but without the image? Why would the blacklisted terms be listed out as you're browsing? Isn't the whole point of blacklisting to avoid having to see the actual terms? It all seems kind of counter-productive and flawed, i mean, the browsing feature on this site is flawed already, with deleted post and gold account post all cluttering up the only way to look at images without opening multiple tabs or what have you, it seems like adding blacklisted post to the problem is the opposite of good design.

I might just sound like a scrub, but i'm genuinely confused.

As per help:blacklists, they exist so that you can hide posts with certain tags that you don't want to see, but you can still reveal them if you want.

As for the last part, I'm not even sure what you mean by deleted posts and "gold account posts" (?) taking up space.

EDIT: OH WAIT I just remembered that regular users can't actually use blacklists, so I guess there's that as well.

I think what stgmz wants is for the slideshow view to skip over posts that are blacklisted, loli, or deleted.

yes, that is the much easier way of saying what i was trying to
the same issue arises with the "random post" feature.

Hm, I must've not noticed the change. But I get it now.

I suppose the blacklist assumes you use the search page as your primary means of browsing, since it removes the thumbnails of blacklisted posts from there entirely. It doesn't sound like it was designed to work with only using slideshow viewing.

Even doing random/slideshow you can add search terms to it. So if you want totally random without deleted posts you can just search -status:deleted and random/slideshow away.

Personally I don't mind blacklisted images come up sans image and enjoy the ability to click on them to see what I'm missing. But I suppose I don't have strong views on any particular universally offensive content. Optimally there could be a setting to totally omit blacklisted/deleted tags or leave them as is with blank but there. But I don't see programming such an option into the site being a particular priority compared to other options and improvements.

The post-page shows itself to you even if the post is blacklisted because it may be a part of a pool or tag you're browsing page-by-page. For instance, I have futanari blacklisted, and so looking at the pool page for pool #9383 only shows me four posts. But, looking at them interested me at the time, so I opened one, used the arrow to return to the first page of the pool, then used the blacklisted tags list to toggle the posts to be shown so I could look through it. Without that sort of functionality I'd have to go into my settings to remove the tag from blacklist every time an outlier interested me.

Basic members can use blacklists, you're getting them confused with tag subscriptions.

I doubt this is possible for performance reasons. Imagine if a user had 100 tags blacklisted. That's not a problem with the current implementation (simply hiding the thumbnail/full image when it appears). But skipping over posts entirely would be different because it would be equivalent to adding 100 negated tags to the search.
