I was just wondering if incest tags should be added to any post that has sister ships kissing/doing sexual things. Since they are personifications, I'm not sure if they would be considered sisters in the literal sense.

afaik we don't even have "sister ships" tagged as sisters or any other related tags
edit: I was wrong, over a hundred posts under sisters kancolle, we should probably standardize that

Wow, I was just thinking about this issue the other day after seeing doujinshi tagged that way on sadpanda. I promptly checked to see if it was being done here and only got a few results.
Some of the two-ship classes like Chitose/Chiyoda and Fusou/Yamashiro really seem like sisters with incestuous vibes, but the larger classes (e.g. all destroyers) don't really have that. For example, the official manga has the Fubukis meeting each other for the first time at the naval base.
Personally, I'd say leave out the incest tag, yuri + character tags would suffice to find specific couples (granted, there's the 2-tag limit for basic users, but I'm not sure if there's enough variety of pairings to make it a big problem to find what you need just using 1 character tag) and I doubt that people looking for incest in general are interested in sister ships. But on the other hand it would be kind of silly to have a post with sisters yuri without incest.
What about tagging sisters on KanColle at all, should we remove those or nah?
I'd be in favor of removing them since it can be applied very loosely; for example, tagging any combination of Fubuki-class, Ayanami-class, and Akatsuki-class as sisters since they're all technically Fubuki-class.

I'd support removing sisters as well; the connection between biological sisters and sister ships (the connections between the 5,000-ton steel things being ultimately the basis for the connections between the kanmusu) is to me very weak and little more than a figure of speech in the term itself. Unless an individual work specifies that its girls are biological sisters outside of being sister ships, I think "personifying two ships built to the same design" is sufficiently distinct from "born to the same parents".
It looks like the Kancolle posts have been kept well-gardened in regards to the non-use of sisters, but now Azur Lane is up to about 80 posts of azur_lane sisters . Saw it tagged on one post and thought "wait, I thought we weren't doing that" and had to dig up the thread to confirm it
I've seen it happen on Girls Frontline posts too and have been removing it when spotted.
