Imamura Ryou is an animator and character designer.
After graduating from high school, Imamura joined Gainax in 2005. After working there for half a year he went freelance and made his debut as a key animator on Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking: Mori no Tami no Densetsu before joining Shaft where he quickly made a name for himself as one of the studio's premier action animators alongside the likes of Abe Gen'ichirou and Oota Kazuhiro.
After working on the Kizumonogatari trilogy, Imamura left Shaft in 2016 and resumed activities as a freelancer.
