If Seki requested it, all the art under the artist tag could be removed and banned whether we liked it or not. One can always hope for generosity, but you can't blame them if they take it down, either.
Face it, a ton of stuff we upload have these same exact warnings, either as it appears here or on an artist's site.
If we didn't conveniently ignore this, or were able to skirt by on the fact that most artists hosted here are blissfully unaware or don't know English, then content would dwindle by half. Whether that content is totally beneficial and absolutely needed here is another matter.
It is kind of rotten of us, but we can usually claim ignorance since their warnings are often in Japanese, and we're kind enough (most of the time) to pull down their work when they come and ask for it.
Strictly speaking, what the artists don't want is their works being posted/used elsewhere a) without their acknowledgement; b) without citing the original artist and source; c) while claiming to have drawn the image. Danbooru obviously doesn't do c, and utmost caution and respect is practiced to explicitly display the original artist and the source, but it's true that all that is done without the artist's approval or even acknowledgement. It's understandable that most artists would be angry if they find out. (Which makes the few exceptions quite generous people.)
On the other hand, we do have stuff like this post #1046401 Now while sougetsu_(yosinoya35) doesn't actually say "Danbooru", he clearly doesn't mind that his work is being shown on other websites being fan-translated. And while he mentions not knowing english to read the comments, he could know at least english letters in general(or just randomly clicking) to see that (if he was talking about Danbooru) that we gave credit and also cited source material to his work.

I suspect in most cases the reaction would be similar. The vast majority of what gets uploaded and translated here simply isn't purchasable outside of Japan or at the very least requires a good bit of knowledge of how to work through Japanese order sites to do so. We expose their work to an audience that would never be able to see it otherwise while not taking money out of their pocket.
Actually, some of it probably translates to sales for them. The chibi-miku series got popular enough to get a tank release; a copy of that tank now sits proudly on my shelf. Had it not been posted here I'd never have been exposed to it to make me want to go through the extra trouble and spend the extra money to buy a copy.

Bonus points that the Chibi Miku series is practically a silent 4-koma as well. Which makes it REALLY easy for anyone to really import that particular doujin.
