There was no reason this post should have been deleted. Aside from being higher quality, if post #2893573 gets approved and all child posts, there's no reason this one should have been rejected. I've had a number of other male focused images of atleast decent quality that have been rejected (and have never been undeleted despite multiple appeals), and it kind of seems like it's become more common in general. I get that this site's audience is predominantly straight and otoko_no_ko images are the ones that mainly get traction, but I feel like a lot of moderators are judging posts purely on their own tastes and not basic quality.

"X was already approved" is not a valid argument. Approvers are explicitly told to only approve what they like - if nobody likes a picture it'll stay unapproved, it's simple as that.

Since most users of danbooru are heterosexual males, it's natural that uploaders would be like that too, so obviously explicit yaoi/otoko no ko pictures would have to be of very high quality to be approved by someone else. Your picture is very sketchy, and very explicitly yaoi, so I can see why it would go unapproved.

I reapproved this. Putting aside "X was already approved", I don't think sketch lines or "sketchiness" instantly invalidates an image, and I highly disagree with flagging such images unless the sketch lines are actually that much of an issue in relation to the whole image (not that overall image quality is considered by most people when flagging for deletion, apparently). The content isn't to my personal taste, but it's fine otherwise.

I didn't know that was the policy. I think that's the wrong way to go about it, but that atleast explains things now.

This post breaks no policy at all.
What nnt describes is just the nature of Approvers of the site. I try to be as open as possible, but since this post is already undeleted I see no point in arguing my reasoning of disapproving this post. It's probably not flag worthy, but still on the borderline.

It's more that there's no real way to define what's "good enough" or what's good/bad artwork, so the only way to have some standards of quality is to let each approver decide by himself. I've had male focus uploads (and chibi, and no_humans posts too for the matter) not make it past the queue in the past, and I ended up simply avoiding those uploads until I got unrestricted privileges. It's not a fair system, but it's the only possible one for a site dedicated to fanart.

Hello, have a wonderful Christmas!

Lately, I discovered Xenoblade 2 as my main game for the time being. So I have my focus on all kind of fanart for it. Yeah, also lewd ones:

1: I can't really see anything really problematic here. Maybe Homura's right hand? Nia's arm seems too long? If so, can you check if the rest is fine. It would be a shame if this would be deleted for such a small thing imo.

2: Seems to be a typical over-the-top anime paizuri for me. Cannot find anything, sorry.

Thanks for your patience.

While Homuras right hand might have turned away some Mod I think its the male body that is the real problem. It looks like some kind of fleshy tree trunk that keeps going where the pectoralis should start. Also explicit images are less likely to get approved.

Those are some seriously rough lines. Thats not against any kind of policy or anything but I know several Mods dont like that. Likewise many Mods dont like overweight girls and of course its explicit.

Not a huge deal to criticise here.
First one: Some characters are more detailed than others (may be accurate to source material), some hands looks a bit wonky and each character seems to have its own lighting. In the end I think this one just didnt catch any Moderators interest.
Second one: Her fingers are somewhat too long and her but is unnaturally bulbous. Beyond that its just a picture of a girl like millions other (1,5 millions currently). I suspect many Mods are just tired of them by now.

Thank you for answering and approving one. Well, I look at the image as a whole (as it should be) and the quality is good although there are these mistakes you mentioned. And the reason why it mods are so strict is that it's an explicit picture, right? That's not really fair but that's just my opinion.

the image post #2968943 contain different commentary by creator - is this not a good enough reason for uploading alternative revision?

If there's an important commentary but a better version of the image has already been uploaded, you should add a second commentary to the image that's already there instead of reuploading. help:artist commentary has instructions in the "Commentaries from multiple sources" section.
