Some people are making a big deal of it, but apparently albert is fine with uploading patreon rewards until the artist asks for them to be banned/removed, so that's how it is.

Well yes, I should have clarified that point and not emphasized approver discretion on it. Site policy is still that it shouldn't matter that a post is from Patreon.

Is there anything wrong with these pictures or maybe they just don't belong on this site?

There’s also currently a discussion going on about uploading patreon rewards. From what I understand, the majority is leaning towards that uploading patreon rewards is discouraged unless explicitly allowed by the artist.

Link to the recent posts from said discussion: topic #11399/p3. You can also check previous pages for the full discussion.

As we can see, uploading patreon rewards is not prohibited or particularly discouraged. But some approvers are against it personally, so such posts have significantly lower chance of passing through the mod queue.

Scan artifacts, unconfirmed source, no artist, and the rather old artstyle leaves something to be desired. Not typically something we approve anymore.

Game CG, unless very, very high quality, typically goes unaccepted in the queue. We're not the site for that. Re:wiki

Note that 2-3 score is actually a fairly low score for a post. Not to mention that score isn't quite a great indicator of quality.

Iowa's face... (neither the position nor angle of the mouth even remotely matches the rest of the head; the way the nose is drawn is weird too). Her shoulder positioning is at best extremely unnatural and uncomfortable as well.
Maikaze's face is poor as well, but at least the mouth isn't angled in the opposite way to what it should be like Iowa's is.

The colours at the bottom of her hair are either incomplete or just flat out wrong, particularly with those lines running through it. Her wrist looks broken as well.

I'm most definitely certain that haijin does not have a twitter or tumblr where you would have found that, and if he does, it is not documented anywhere online. Wherever you found it must have been a repost or a third-party website, but we'll never know since it's unsourced.

Can't be a revision either, because pixiv #49755474's submission time is consistent with the current image URL:

  • 4/10/2015 00:11
  • /2015/04/10/00/11/15/

When someone tagged it waifu2x and upscaled, that was indication that the image most likely went through post-processing with those tools to produce a "superior" post of dubious quality (as waifu2x doesn't perfectly upscale art, no software really can).

We have a policy against waifu2x upscales because it is unfair towards both the artist and other uploaders who don't modify the original artist's art. You are welcome to share it in a comment if you wish, but uploading a post for it explicitly is heavily discouraged.

I honestly have never heard of waifu2x, much less an upscaling software that could work so well. I thought the use of "waifu" was just some generic dig. I understand now though.

So generally If you don't know where a picture came from or who drew it then you shouldn't upload it?

help:image source. Generally, if you don't know where a picture came from, there are numerous tools out there to help you out now. Even Google Reverse Image Search will pull up some indexed results from Twitter if you happen to have saved an image popular enough.

Unconfirmed source basically means "wherever you grabbed this image from, it is illegitimate". Basically anything pulled from some sort of 3rd party reblogging site or some random Japanese fc2 blog that just curates art with a recurring theme/motif, stuff like that. Sources directly from artists (personal blog, pixiv/seiga/nijie/tumblr/pawoo) are almost always trusted, and should be the first place you look.

I'm concerned that every time I upload any picture here to Danbooru some of them get approved but others don't

I completely understand that this post didn't got approved because it ran out of time post #2166667

however what i do not understand is why this picture is not even liked by the moderators even though i did followed the following procedures before uploading it? post #2767379

It keeps me worried about this and will make me question whether is a good idea to post pictures here on Danbooru
