Upload Feedback Thread - post here if your uploads keep getting deleted

Posted under General

The scratchy linework isn't doing it too many favors, and some of the faces are a little warped looking. But that shouldn't make it flagworthy if someone approves it later. It's not really too western in my opinion, we're just used to much cleaner artworks.

Fair enough, I suppose. I thought the faces were "warped" because it wasn't strictly anime style, but that's in the past now.

One more deletion I can shrug off, a few accidental pixiv sample uploads already put me at the bottom of the barrel (10 uploads) anyway :v

It's missing a copyright, source, and artist. This falls below very basic tagging standards, on top of being an art style which isn't exactly hugely popular to begin with (pixel art is hard to get approved here, in my experience).

It's also a VERY small sprite as well, and I wouldn't call it "high quality" for pixel art, especially since I can't tell much about the sprite thsre.

I'm not providing any stylistic or quality criticism, however I must ask, is this your own work?

It's not.

I try to source all images I upload, but I couldn't find anything for this one. I thought the image was good enough to meet the site's standards, but I might've been wrong.

Should I just not upload images if I can't find enough information to meet minimal tagging standards?

No. Even if you can't find out what the copyright is and who the character is, you should be able to put as many general tags as possible. However, concerning the image itself, I'd say it's not remarkable enough as pixel art for it to be approved here.

I'd say this day and age, sourcing images (and providing information about artists) is extremely important given how much content is out there on the internet. But if it's an old image on your hard drive or something, then we can't fault you for it.

You can always use source request, copyright request, character request, etc. if you're at a loss, but try not to use them too much and continue to tag your uploads best as you can.

At the very least, I'd have added the copyright (or original if it's not based on a popular copyright) to it. But as I said earlier, it isn't very high quality or memorable enough to get approved, IMO.

So I took a 7-week sabbatical, my ratio went back up.

Started posting, ratio started going WAY up.

Aaaaand now it's back to 10/day (which, with the 24hr limit, fucks me over big-time) :|
It really feels like the entire system is a slippery-slope, with deletions (non-approved posts) fucking you over without realising.

So with post #2583479 I had uploaded it thinking that even if the proportions were a bit off, that the image was fine thanks to it being from Megami which images from are pretty much always approved and that I had seen similar images be approved with no issue. Clearly this wasn't the case, given it's deletion, which I'm totally fine with. But in the future, should I scrutinize images from said sources just as much as any other image, whether uploading them myself or with other people's uploads from those?
