BUR #24102 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

deprecate peaceful
nuke peaceful

Far too vague and subjective tag. Potentially applies to any post where people aren't fighting or having an accident. (What else do post #7062958, post #7058991, post #5653488, post #5956959 and post #5913512 have in common, for example?) Wiki page created without discussion, AFAICT.

BUR #24119 has been rejected.

deprecate violence
nuke violence

The opposite tag of the above BUR yet also similarly subjective. Posts in "violence" tags were ranging from guro stuff to character fighting and getting punched, even domestic and mental abuse were included in this tag. So it's very vague and not useful.

Very much used for blacklisting, think about it. Do you want to have to filter out all of those individually?

If that's the case it's not an effective blacklist term since none of the potential subtags are implicated to it and it's not applied to everything, so a lot of posts would slip through that filter. And filtering each individually would be more useful because violence is extremely broad. Someone who wants to blacklist things like post #6802012 may not necessarily also want to block out things like post #7251520

If I may jump in, I absolutely went the route of individually blocking the tags for physical violence instead of blacklisting the violence tag, and the reasons you mentioned definitely play a role.
Another aspect is the small tag count, and that "Violence" is really just a to broad and unclear category as soon as we include emotional or other non-physical forms of violence.
At last, its simply a wholesale thing. Either you take every form of violence out by blacklisting such a term, or none. Which, not gonna lie, might not work for me but might be exactly what other people are looking for.

Just my 2 cents.

Agree. "Peaceful" is a subjective statement, same as "pretty" for example.

I still think there is something the tag/its taggers is/are trying to capture, but I think its to broad to pin down in a single tag.

It could potentially be a good pool but I agree it's too vague and subjective for a tag.

I, too, can sort of discern an attempt to collect various takes on the theme of "tranquility". There's nothing wrong with interpreting and associating pictures in personal ways, but as most users seem to agree, pet tags are not the right way to do it. To me, a favorite group seems like the ideal way to maintain that kind of collection. A properly tended collaborative pool is another option.

Regarding violence, I agree that is currently too vaguely defined and haphazardly applied. I also agree that it's potentially a very broad tag, but less hopelessly so than peaceful, in my opinion. If it isn't nuked, then its useful purpose(s) (e.g. blacklisting) should be determined and the wiki definition updated accordingly.

Personally I like it. Rather apply it to the others.
