Tag Implication: skirt_lift to skirt

Posted under General

A slight problem: I took a look through some of the skirt_lift posts and noticed that many of them are actually wearing dresses and should be retagged to dress_lift. It wouldn't be right for those pictures to get the skirt tag.

Other than that, an implication seems alright to me. (Unless there's another liftable 'skirt-like' item I can't think of that is neither a dress nor the skirt, itself.)

I really don't think we need to differentiate between dress lift and skirt lift.

I was wondering about that with one post where a dress was being lifted. I was a bit confused which one to use since skirt_lift is used far more often and with dresses too.

So I guess we should just have an alias of dress_lift to skirt_lift? That would make things simpler as if you were looking for a dress being lifted you could do a tag search for "dress skirt_lift" anyway.

I think dress_lift should be aliased to skirt_lift, since those two things are extremely similar and generally you'd want to find both of those if you're searching for one. But no implication to skirt, since we just established it could be a dress that's getting lifted (or maybe a big T-shirt or sweater, etc.).

Aliasing dress_lift to skirt_lift is alright with me as well, for the reason wanchan mentioned. Since dress lift already had ~500 tags, I presumed it was an accepted tag. So when I made my first response, I based it on what we already had. (I need to stop doing that.)

Of course, that'll mean that we shouldn't implicate skirt_lift to skirt, unless we want to also implicate dress to skirt for consistancy, but that seems pointless and unnecessary.

I changed my mind (I'm prone to doing that). I'm voting against aliasing dress_lift to skirt_lift. I think perhaps dress_lift should be reserve for images depicting a lift of the outfit (dress) that would reveal above the waist. In essence when the focus of the lift goes from just revealing the crotch to also revealing the upper body like in a shirt_lift.
