I think source name and traditional miko should be nuked; All 14 source_name posts would be better tagged as either copyright name or watermark, and traditional miko is just a miko.
dirty talk seems useless, because most rating:e pictures with speech bubbles would qualify; on the other hand, if it could be retroactively applied to tens of thousands of posts, it might be useful for finding comics that have characters saying risque things to each other. Either way, it would be hard to garden, because you'd have to read the posts in question instead of just looking for visual aspects.
I like view between legs, but I'm not sure if it should or shouldn't include lots of the female_pov cunnilingus pictures -- technically, legs are framing the image, but it seems different than post #2452681 in a way I'm not sure how to word.
For the question: I'm not sure how the tags are being used, but language-wise, the difference between a toy airplane and a model airplane is that the first refers to pre-assembled children's toys, and the second is usually scale models that hobbyists put together (like gundam models, but of airplanes).
Is there any difference between pavement and sidewalk in their usage on danbooru?
If there is, a wiki article would really help.
Otherwise, they should just be aliased. If they're being used for the same thing, then it only comes down to British English and American English.

Does that mean the tag should be killed? Most of the tagged posts are ones where the waist is just visible in some way, and sometimes barely even that. The tag could maybe be useful on those close-up images that's focused around the waist area but that's about it.

In at least some of the cases it's probably a tag for people who don't know about the existance of midriff or stomach...

Maybe, but posts like post #3269669, post #3279181 and post #3285216 being tagged with waist just shows how badly this tag gets used.
I thought that ears visible through hair was intended to be used similarly as eyebrows visible through hair where the hair appears to be transparent, like in post #3042499 and post #3012526.
But it also gets used for ears appearing outside of the hair on post #3277038 and post #3225467, which I've also been seeing tagged as ears but could probably use its own separate tag.

I don't know if it's necessary, but it could be useful in helping taggers know which article of clothing is requested.

twisted neck
I just saw this tag today and it's usage is pretty weird.
From what i can tell there are 2 types of images it's added to:
- when the neck is unusually drawn as twisted - like twisted torso, not an intentionally broken neck by twisting
- when the character has a turned head and, is just looking to the side or back regularly
If it's the 1st, can we get a wiki for it?
If it's the 2nd, i'd rather we remove the tag entirely, way too common and unnecessary.

+1 for nuking the tag, I doubt it'd be as useful as twisted torso even if used in the same way.
Is self_exposure essentially the same thing as flashing? I don't see a significant difference between the two.
