And alias

Edit:
Changed the aliases and thread title, since I don't think we'll be changing the ice_cream tag to anything else.

Is there any real reason other than personal aesthetics to change it?
All three versions of the term are just a personal preference, I guess. So no, not really. Though, the main reason I brought this up was 'cause I thought the ice_cream_cone tag looked sorta weird.
But anyway, we should probably get some of those aliases in.

I have, but mostly in British English writings - and antiquated ones, at that.
Hmm, that's interesting. The tendency (in English at least) is for words of the form "a-b" or "a b" to eventually turn into "ab", not the other way around - for example, "e-mail" -> "email", "on-line" -> "online", and "web page/site" -> "webpage/site", to name a few from a particularly fast-growing semantic domain.
Back in the days, British English was taught to me at school. As far as I can remember, ice-cream was clearly preferred.
Now I am not sure what "antiquated" means above -- to me, it gives the impression of "in the XIX century and earlier". I maintain the hyphenated version was certainly widely used still during the XX century.
But I could easily imagine that there was variation in British already some decades ago and that American influence has caused a rapid change towards ice cream all over the English-speaking world.
Note: Take a look at the applicable Wikipedia article, especially the seemingly random variation in the captions.
Since I haven't thrown my votes in yet:
+1 to ice cream and ice cream cone, aliasing all variants to those.
I am in favour of keeping ice cream and ice cream cone and having the variants aliased to these two tags.
